The Gilgandra Waste Facility sells scrap metal collected from the community. The proceeds from these sales contribute to the small community projects fund. This fund is available for local community groups to apply for amounts up to $1,000 for use on community facilities. Proposals will require to have matching funding or in-kind support to an equivalent value.
The small community fund is now open and Council invite submissions from local community groups to apply for funding of local projects.
The submission process involves writing a letter to Council outlining your community groups proposed project, the benefits to the community and the amount you are applying for. The funds can be used for a variety of benefits including repairs and maintenance for buildings, community events, purchase of items and equipment.
Applications close Tuesday, 17 September 2024.
There are limited funds and applications will be ranked and funds allocated according to merit. Submissions should be addressed to the Planning & Development Department, Gilgandra Shire Council PO Box 23 Gilgandra NSW 2827 or emailed to council@gilgandra.nsw.gov.au with the subject header small community projects fund.
Community groups have until the 30 April 2025 to complete their project and payments from the fund will be made once the projects have been completed and assessed by a Council officer, and a tax invoice has been supplied by the community group.
