Extraordinary Council Meeting - 1 April 2025

Council wishes to advise of the Extraordinary Council Meeting that will be held next week.
Where: Council Chambers, 15 Warren Road, Gilgandra
When: 4:00pm on Tuesday, 1 April 2025
As per usual practice, a copy of the Agenda is available on Council’s website prior to the meeting.

Water and Sewer

On Display Indefinitely

Residents of Wamboin, Gumble and Bobarah Streets will experience temporary interruptions to water supply, as a result of scheduled water main repairs.

These water supply works are expected at 7:00am on Monday, 31 March 2025 and is scheduled for completion by 5:00pm on Friday, 4 April 2025 (weather permitting). For more information, contact Manager of Urban Services on 6817 8800.

Gilgandra Fitness Centre

As of Monday, 24 March 2025 Gilgandra Fitness Centre has added extra classes to the timetable, to keep you motivated and moving!
H.I.I.T Classes – Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 4:00 PM – 4:40 PM
Cardio Class – Tuesdays at 4:00 PM – 4:40 PM

All bookings are to be made through Gym Master to secure your spot. For more information, call (02) 6817 8791.

Waste 2 Art - Year of Toys

On Display Indefinitely

There are 12 categories, and all entries will be showcased at our Local Exhibition held from 6 – 23 May 2025 at the Coo-ee Heritage & Visitor Information Centre. The winners of each category will receive a $200 Coo-ee Cash Card, and will be sent to the Regional Showcase Exhibition in Dubbo at the end of the year.

Entries close at 5pm on Wednesday, 30 April 2025.

Local Roads and Street Information: 18 March 2025

Sealing works will continue on National Park Road.
Road maintenance will continue on Milpulling, Dilly, Dooroombah, Mudfords and West Mialla Roads.
Resealing will progress to the Castlereagh Highway (Mendooran Road) this week and onto Castlereagh Street (Newell Highway) next Saturday, 22 March 2025. Motorists can expect short delays and are advised to avoid the area while this work is being carri

Council would like to thank the community who have contributed to the process so far, through attendance at focus groups or completion of the online survey. Winners were drawn from those who submitted a survey response. Congratulations to Randall & Rebecca Medd and Eliza Mudford, who were the recipients of a Coo-ee Cash Card.

New Aged Care and Disabilities Hub

On Display Indefinitely

Construction works and building fit-outs have commenced on the recently purchased ‘Tavern’ building, located at 41 Miller Street in its transition to become the new Aged Care and Disabilities Hub. JDV Projects has been engaged to undertake these transformational works.

Council looks forward to the completion of this project, and the positive impact it will have for the future of our community.
