Under the Gums (originally 'A Night Under the Gums') has been an annual festivity in Gilgandra since its inception in 2021.
2021
A Night Under the Gums 2021 invited attendees to graze the delights of local and regional food suppliers, enjoy a beverage and experience the Gilgandra riverside in a new light ~ with both live music and lighting displays making the space shine.
Held on Saturday, 10 April 2021, the night brought the Gilgandra community together to enjoy live music and graze the delights of local stalls.
This event was funded by the NSW Government Department Planning, Industry & Environment’s Summer Fun(d) program.
2022
A Night Under the Gums 2022 was a community activation event held in the High Street area of Miller Street to activate a new shared carpark zone, bringing people from the community and the broader region together to enjoy the space, good company, live music, great food and drink!
Featuring food stalls by local and regional producers, community groups and local businesses along with live music, pop-up bar and lighting displays to bring the banks and beautiful river gums to life. We partnered with many stakeholders to transform the idea into reality, engaging firstly with our local businesses, community groups and musicians to come and be part of the night.
With a pop-up bar provided by Armatree Hotel and a wonderful variety of food and interest stalls provided by Devils Hollow Brewery, Black Gate Distillery, Blue Sky Cheese, Saltbush Lamb, The Goods, Armatree CWA, Gilgandra CWA, Gilgandra Lions Club, Country Coffee Cart and Bruno's Woodfire Pizza - something for everyone!
It was a wonderful night enjoyed by all, with funding support through NSW Government Summer Fund. With over 1,000 attendees and smiles all round, it was great to transform and use this space in a completely new way, with Gilgandra Region coming together to support and enjoy a unique community event.
