The Windmill Walk takes you from the Gilgandra Coo-ee Heritage and Visitor Information Centre to the Gilgandra CBD. Following the banks of the Castlereagh River, you can view some of the only remaining windmills in town. In 2021, Council engaged local company Central West Machining and Engineering to upgrade the existing Windmill Walk footpath to a 2.5m wide concrete shared path between the town bridge and the Rural Museum. In 2022, the windmills which adorn the walk were restored and decorated with artworks from clients from our local disability service, Orana Living.
