Gilgandra Cultural Precinct Beautification
The Gilgandra Cultural Precinct Strategic Plan focuses on 3 key themes:
- Military heritage, including the Coo-ee March
- Landscape, including the natural environment and farming
- Aboriginal heritage
These key themes in conjunction with community feedback, have guided the landscaping and murals works that have been completed in the Gilgandra Cultural Precinct.
Landscaping
Landscaping works at the Coo-ee Heritage Centre, Sound Shell and Community Gardens have focused on utilising the Castlereagh River flowing through Gilgandra, enhanced though art with recognition of culture and history of our region. Connecting the GCP to Miller Street (Gilgandra’s CBD) and creating an inviting space for locals and tourists alike.
Sound Shell Murals

The community survey saw recurring themes favouring natural landscape, agriculture, local industry, and Aboriginal heritage.
