Who can join?

Anyone who lives in Gilgandra Shire!

What is required?

  • Some form of ID showing current address
  • Those under 18 need to be  enrolled by a parent or guardian at the Library

What can I borrow?

Initially, you can borrow two books at a time. When you have returned these loans three times, you can move on to borrow up to 15 items, including 2 DVDs and 2 CDs per person at any one time.

  • Items may be borrowed for a three week period
  • Videos and DVDs may be borrowed for one week


Can I extend or renew my loan?

Yes, items can be renewed, provided they are not reserved for another borrower. Renewals can be made on or before the due date, in person, by email: library@gilgandra.nsw.gov.au or by telephone (6817 8877).

Can I reserve books?

Yes, all items can be reserved. If there is something you want that we don’t hold in stock, we may be able to borrow it from another branch of North Western Library. If you wish you can set a PIN number on your library membership at the Library, which will enable you to reserve books from any internet connection and check when your items are due on the Library website http://www.northwesternlibrary.com.au/.  A PIN will also enable you log in to borrow and download online audiobooks.
